Sneakerheads salivate over player’s editions of their favorite signature Vendita Scarpe da basket basketball shoes, hoping one day they’ll be available to them. But the league was different when Michael Jordan was playing, and the colorways of the shoes he wore on the court were the colorways you saw on retailers’ shelves. The first Scarpe Air Jordan release of 2016 is Nike’s interpretation of what Jordan would have worn on the court if he received player-exclusive colors. The Air Jordan 4 Retro Alternate 89 arrives Saturday and will retail for $190. The shoe will also be available in grade school, preschool and toddler sizes and retail for $140, $80 and $60, respectively. The Air Jordan Retro shoe features a color palette reminiscent of Jordan’s time with the Chicago Bulls, with a predominantly white tumbled-leather upper boasting gym red accents. The shoe’s midsole is white and gym red and is completed with a white outsole. Gym red also appears on the shoe’s lining. The Jumpman Flight branding on the tongue is black and gym red, the Jumpman logo on the heel is black, with the words “Air Jordan” on a tag on the reverse side of the tongue.
